Linguine Tart

- 1/2 cup butter divided shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic MINCED shopping list
- 30 THIN French bread SLICES shopping list
- 2 tablespoons reg. flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. white pepper shopping list
- Dash ground nutmeg shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups milk shopping list
- 1/4 cup grated parmeasan cheese shopping list
- 2 eggs beaten shopping list
- 8 0z. fresh linguine cooked and drained shopping list
- 2 cups swiss cheese(8 0z.) shredded and divided shopping list
- 1/3 cup cup sliced green onions Tbs. minced fresh basil or 1 tsp, basil leaves crushed shopping list
- 2 plum tomatoes cut length wise in eights shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Melt 1/4 cup butter in small saucepan over medium heat
- Add Garlic cook 1 minute
- Brush 10 inch pie plate with butter mixture
- Line bottom and side of plate with bread allowing bread to extend i inch over side of dish.
- Brush bread with remaining butter mixture
- Bake 5 minutes till light brown
- REDUCE HEAT TO 350 degrees
- Melt remaining 1/4 cup butter in medium sauce pan over low heat Stir in flour and seasonings
- gradually stir in milk cook constantly untill thick
- Add parmeasan cheese re move small amount of sauce add to eggs stir untill blended return egg mixture to saucepan mix well set aside.
- Combine Linguine, 1 1/4 cups swiss cheese onions and basil in large bowl our sauce over Linguine mixture toss to coat
- Pour into crust Arrange tomatoes oon top
- Sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cup swiss cheese
- Bake 25 minutes or untill theoughly heated let stand 5 minutes Garnish as desired
- Makes 8 servings
