Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter divided
  • 2 cloves GARLIC MINCED
  • 30 THIN FRENCH BREAD SLICES
  • 2 tablespoons reg. Flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. white pepper
  • Dash ground nutmeg
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup grated parmeasan cheese
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 8 0z. fresh linguine cooked and drained
  • 2 cups swiss cheese(8 0z.) shredded and divided
  • 1/3 cup cup sliced green onions\2 Tbs. minced fresh Basil or 1 tsp, Basil leaves crushed
  • 2 plum tomatoes cut length wise in eights

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Melt 1/4 cup butter in small saucepan over medium heat
  2. Add Garlic cook 1 minute
  3. Brush 10 inch pie plate with butter mixture
  4. Line bottom and side of plate with bread allowing bread to extend i inch over side of dish.
  5. Brush bread with remaining butter mixture
  6. Bake 5 minutes till light brown
  7. REDUCE HEAT TO 350 degrees
  8. Melt remaining 1/4 cup butter in medium sauce pan over low heat Stir in flour and seasonings
  9. gradually stir in milk cook constantly untill thick
  10. Add parmeasan cheese re move small amount of sauce add to eggs stir untill blended return egg mixture to saucepan mix well set aside.
  11. Combine Linguine, 1 1/4 cups swiss cheese onions and basil in large bowl our sauce over Linguine mixture toss to coat
  12. Pour into crust Arrange tomatoes oon top
  13. Sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cup swiss cheese
  14. Bake 25 minutes or untill theoughly heated let stand 5 minutes Garnish as desired
  15. Makes 8 servings
