How to make it

  • Fill a stockpot 3/4 full of water.
  • Add the tbs salt and bring to a rapid boil
  • While water is boiling, crack eggs into a bowl and beat well.
  • Beat in the schmaltz, 1/4 tsp salt, pepper, and baking powder.
  • Slowly fold in the matzoh meal and lastly beat mixture vigorously until completely blended.
  • Wet hands, folding mixture in your palms and shape 1 1/4 inches in diameter ( they will double in size when cooked )
  • Gently place the balls in the boiling water and reduce heat to a simmer. \
  • Cover and cook about 25 minutes.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and place 1 or 2 in a bowl of soup
