Gemelli With Pesto And Peas

- 1 package frozen peas (can substitute haricot verts-trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces) shopping list
- 1 lb box Gemelli (Barilla brand is good) shopping list
- about 1/2 cup pesto shopping list
- Freshly grated parmesan cheese to serve on top shopping list
- fresh cracked pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Cook pasta according to package directions in well salted water.
- When pasta is about 1/2 cooked, add frozen peas.
- Bring water back to a boil and let pasta and peas cook together for the last several minutes, until pasta is al dente and peas are bright green and sweet.
- Drain, leaving the pasta a bit wet and transfer to a large bowl.
- Add pesto and toss well, coating everything with pesto and getting it in all the lovely curves of the pasta.
- Serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese and cracked pepper on top.
- It's just that easy!
- *this recipe uses a whole box of pasta, but you could easily adjust and make less if you have fewer guests.
