Egg Nog Cheese Cake Recipe
From a European recipe group, perfect for any holiday, spring time dessert. Can't find bottled egg nog, make your own then! Find many of the European baking products in your grocery ilse . Dr Oetker is one popular brand found in the States.

Ingredients
  • For the crust:
  • 200 g low fat Quark cheese
  • 100 ml Sunflower oil
  • 1 Egg
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 Pkt Vanilla sugar
  • 350 g Flour
  • 1/2 Packet Baking powder ( 1 tsp b.p )
  • Filling
  • 7 Eggs
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 kg low fat Quark
  • 350 ml Eggnog
  • 1 Packet Vanilla pudding powder
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 1 Packet Vanilla sugar
  • 100 g Raisins
  • 100 g sliced almonds

Directions
  1. For the dough:
  2. Blend oil ,quark , egg, sugar and vanilla sugar.
  3. Mix Flour with baking powder and add to cheese mixture to make a dough .
  4. Roll out dough and place dough in the greased springform pan to cover bottom and part way up sides.
  5. Preheat oven to 175C ( approx 350F )
  6. Mix Yolks, quark, eggnog, custard powder, sugar and vanilla sugar. .
  7. Beat whites with the salt to stiff peaks and blend into cheese mixture.
  8. Add the almonds and raisins
  9. Spread cheese mixture over the dough and bake 60 minutes or cake is done and set
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before cutting.
  11. Serve pieces with heavy cream beaten with some egg nog and dust with cocoa if desired
  12. Note: quark is a European cheese, soft white curd cheese very similar to Ricotta cheese.
  13. The Net has many recipe on how to make substitutes for quark.
