My ex-mother-in-law (from South Carolina) was a wonderful cook. She made something similar to this & I really enjoyed it. I never knew how she made it. American cooking was so different from the English cooking I was used to back then in 1962. I can't wait to try it. It brings back memories of a very special lady who has been gone for a long time. Canzi the dumpling cooking liquid, is the broth that you cooked the dumpling's in. The water that the chicken n bouilon was cooked in, bout 1 cup is needed, but can add more depending how thick or thin you want your sauce.
