Greek Zucchini Balls -kolokythokeftedes

- 1 zucchini, grated ( squeeze out excess liquid ) shopping list
- 1 onion, grated shopping list
- 1/2 carrot, grated shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1/2 celery root (celeriac), peeled and grated shopping list
- 3/4 tablespoon anise seed, crushed shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon celery seed shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 pinch ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, or as needed shopping list
- oil for frying shopping list
How to make it
- Mix zucchini, onion, carrot, garlic, celery root, anise seed, celery seed, salt, and pepper together in a bowl.
- Gradually stir in flour until you have a soft, wet dough that sticks to your hands.
- Heat oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Drop dough by tablespoons into the skillet, and fry on both sides until lightly browned.
- Drain on paper lined trays
- Serve with sauces if desired like: yoghurt mint, sour cream dill etc etc
