Kimchi Jigae

- 2 cups Kimchi (I specifically like mak kimchi, but I also understand that this isn't available for everyone) shopping list
- 1 tsp sesame oil shopping list
- 1/4 lb of lean pork shopping list
- 2/3 cup of soft tofu cubed shopping list
- 1 clove crushed garlic shopping list
- 1.2 cup peeled shrimp (optional) shopping list
- 1 tbs of go chu jang (fermented red pepper sauce, optional) shopping list
- 1 tsp of go chu gar roh (red pepper powder) shopping list
- 1 tbs bacon fat (optional) shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Chop kimchi and lean pork into bite sized pieces
- Heat up sesame oil over medium high heat.
- Stir-fry kimchi for 2 minutes.
- Add cubed tofu, lean pork and garlic.
- When pork browns add go chu jang, go cho ga roh and bacon fat.
- Fill pot with water until it barely covers all ingredients.
- Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Serve with rice.
