Ingredients

How to make it

  • Slice 1/2 inch off both ends of onion.
  • Pierce onion skin in several places with a sharp knife.
  • Place onion in microwave-proof bowl.
  • Add a bit of water. Microwave 3 to 4 minutes until soft.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • When cooled, peel and place in food processor.
  • Puree until smooth.
  • Add remaining ingredients and process until combined and smooth.

    Wow! Thank you so much for posting this. I try to make everything when I cater luncheons and this is just what I needed to make my spinach salad a smash. Is absolutely delicious. I will definitely be using this recipe from now on.

    I made this today and it's soooo good. I wonder though, if there is a way to make this a bit thicker so it can be used as a dipping sauce?

    Wowza!Don't just say this sounds good and you'll try it. You gotta really try it! I live in the Vidalia region and the specialty bottled dressing even goes for an expensive premium around here! Looked at other recipes but had to try this one cooking the onion. Wowza! That is definetly the secret to being just like the unique bottled stuff and it is REALLY EASY.

    Anything with Vidalia Onions is a must for me to try. This sounds decadent and Vidalia's are plentiful right now. Will be making this one NOW. Thanks for sharing.

    This recipe sounds YUM! And I look forward to getting back to Florida so I can get some Vidalias.. we can't get them here in the UK. I had some while I was there a few weeks back and enjoyed every last one.
