English Mushroom And Cream Bake Recipe
This can be a main dish for a light meal or even used as a starter course.

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced (I use baby portobellos)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 4 eggs

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Generously grease 4 individual ramekins, 10 ounce custard cups or French onion bowls.
  3. In small skillet, saute mushrooms in butter, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Drain.
  5. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons cheese into bottom of each prepared baking dish.
  6. Add 1/4 cup whipping cream to each.
  7. Carefully break one egg into each over cream.
  8. Divide mushroom mixture over each.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  10. In 13x9 inch baking dish, pour in 3/4 inch hot water.
  11. Carefully set dishes in water.
  12. Cover with foil.
  13. Bake 15 minutes.
  14. Uncover and bake 10 to 15 minutes or until mixture is set and eggs are cooked.
