This is a yummy cake that my grandmother made when I was young.

Ingredients
  • 1 box German Chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup canned Milnot evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup melted margarine
  • 14 oz. bag of caramels
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Directions
  1. Mix the German chocolate cake mix according to the directions on the box
  2. Pour half of the batter in a 13x9 greased and floured pan
  3. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees
  4. While the cake is baking, melt the caramels, sweetened condensed milk and margarine in a double boiler or in the microwave
  5. Pour the mixture over the cake
  6. Add some pecans and the chocolate chips
  7. Pour the rest of the cake batter over the top
  8. Sprinkle some chopped pecans over the top
  9. Bake for 20 minutes, be sure not to overbake.
