Mint Limeade Recipe
If you have a lot of mint in your garden, try this refreshing drink! Increase quantities as desired

Ingredients
  • 6 cups water, divided
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup coarsely chopped fresh mint
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice (about 12 limes)
  • 10 mint sprigs (optional)
  • 10 lime slices (optional)

Directions
  1. Combine 2 cups water, sugar, and chopped mint in a small saucepan; bring to a boil.
  2. Cook until sugar dissolves, stirring frequently.
  3. Remove from heat; let stand 10 minutes.
  4. Strain through a sieve into a bowl; discard solids.
  5. Combine the remaining 4 cups water, sugar syrup, and lime juice in a large pitcher, stirring well.
  6. Serve over ice; garnish with mint sprigs and lime slices, if desired.
  7. Yield: 8 cups (serving size: about 3/4 cup).
