I have been doing some baking for a wedding, and I thought these would be just right for a wedding reception "sweet table". People are surprised when they bite in and find a Hershey's Kiss hidden in the middle - something fun for all ages!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 6 ounce package chocolate “kiss” candies, unwrapped
  • NOTE: You can cut off the tip of the candy kiss with a kitchen shears, and it makes it much easier to wrap the candy piece in the dough, without the tip poking through.
  • Powdered sugar for rolling cookies in

Directions
  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar and extract.
  2. Add the flour and mix together well.
  3. Cover bowl and chill the dough slightly (I rarely find it necessary to do this).
  4. When dough is chilled, take about 1/2 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball, then flatten it in the palm of your hand.
  5. Place a candy kiss in the center of the dough, and then gently shape the dough around the kiss to completely cover the candy kiss.
  6. Place balls on lightly greased cookie sheet, leaving about 2” between cookies, as they will spread a bit as they bake.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes, until set but not brown.
  8. Cool cookies on the pan for a few minutes before removing (until cookies are firm enough to remove with a spatula without the cookies falling apart) and rolling them in powdered sugar while they are still warm.
  9. Place cookies on waxed paper to finish cooling.
  10. Store cooled cookies in a covered container with waxed paper between layers.
  11. Recipe makes about 48 cookies.

These look like they would be perfect for any party or gathering! I imagine you could even put other types of candies inside. Love the pictures!

I'm just going to divorce my husband and remarry him just so you can bake for my wedding. But you're going to have to be the one who tells him that's the plan. Between you and Ahmed, I may never eat lettuce again! Bring on that chocolate and keep it coming!!!
