Swiss Steak Recipe
The meat comes out so tender, and the onion and gravy sauce with the potatoes makes this a real favorite anytime.

Ingredients
  • 1 onion sliced and halved.
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil.
  • 1 electric skillet sized round steak, cubed.
  • 2 cups water or to cover.
  • 2 beef boulion cubes.
  • 1 tbsp. multipurpose flour.
  • 2pkgs. brown or mushroom gravy.
  • 2 cans 15 ounce whole potatoes.
  • Salt and Pepper to taste.

Directions
  1. Peel, half and slice onion.
  2. Preheat electric skillet to 350degrees.
  3. Add vegetable oil and onions.
  4. Cook about 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly flour round steak and shake off access.
  6. Add round steak to pan and cover with water.
  7. Bring to boil and reduce heat to 250 degrees.
  8. Add boulion cubes and sprinkle with 1 tbsp. flour.
  9. Add 2 pkgs mushroom gravy and stir.
  10. Simmer covered on 200 degrees or low for about 2 hours.
  11. Turn round steak after about 1hour.
  12. Add potatoes, drained, at this time and continue to cook, covered for another 30 minutes.
  13. When meat is fork tender, remove and serve!
