a great recipe for home or gift giving. Flavor improves with age. Very easy to make and just as good as store bought gormet mustards!! This recipe for mustard can be used in any recipe that requires "mustard" !

Ingredients
  • 1 cup brown mustard seeds
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard seeds
  • 1 cup dark beer ( like Guinness)
  • 1 1/4 cups white wine vinegar
  • 1 cup mustard powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 Tbs granulated garlic
  • 1 Tbs onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp tumeric
  • 3/4 tsp mace or nutmeg

Directions
  1. Prep time does not include maturing time etc.
  2. Combine mustard seeds, vinegar, and beer and let sit 48 hours in a nonreactive container
  3. Transfer mixture to a food processor along with remaining ingrdients and process until creamy and smooth about 4 to 6 minutes
  4. Transfer to clean glass jars and cover and refrigerate.
  5. Let sit 3 to 4 weeks to mature flavor before using
