Summer Berry Dessert

This is a great summer dessert
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1 stick butter, softened shopping list
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed shopping list
- 1 cup pecans, chopped shopping list
- 1 8 oz.pkg. cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 1 8 oz. container Cool Whip, DO NOT substitute shopping list
- 1 cup sugar, divided shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1 quart berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or any combo you like shopping list
- 2-2 1/2 tsp. cornstarch shopping list
- water shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350
- In mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, dark brown sugar and pecans, mix well Press into bottom of 9x13x2 baking dish
- Bake 15-20 minutes until slightly brown
- Remove from oven and cool on cooling rack
- In mixing bowl, blend together cream cheese, Cool Whip, 3/4 cup sugar, and vanilla
- Spread over crust and refrigerate
- In saucepan, add berries, cornstarch, and 1/4 cup sugar, and just enough water to moisten
- Over medium heat, stir constantly until thickened
- Remove from heat and cool
- Spread over cream cheese layer
- Refrigerate until served
