Ingredients

How to make it

  • Over medium low heat, heat 2 large fry pans (or use a griddle big enough to grill 6 sandwiches)
  • Add a tab of butter to fry pan
  • Fry hot dogs until golden brown on outside and heated through
  • Slice hot dogs in half lengthwise
  • To assemble sandwiches, put bread slices onto counter and add slice of cheese to each slice of bread
  • Top six slices of bread with 4 hot dog halves
  • Top hot dogs with chili
  • Add onions to sandwich if desired
  • Add last 6 bread slices with cheese to assemble sandwich
  • Spread one side of each sandwich with butter
  • Add to pan and cook until golden brown (I generally add some weight to top of sandwich)
  • Flip and cook other side to golden brown (I find cooking them slow keeps the insides nice and hot)
