Grannys Mac And Cheese

- 1 box lrg. elbow macaroni shopping list
- 1 lb. pack of sharp cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1 lb. pack of mild cheddar cheese shopping list
- 4 tbsp. butter shopping list
- milk (est. 1 1/2 cup- 2 cups or more) shopping list
- salt (to taste) shopping list
- pepper (to taste) shopping list
How to make it
- In a lrg. pot cook macaroni until al dente (not to soft but firm to bite), pull off heat drain and set aside.
- In two bowls keep cheeses seperated and cut into small cubes.
- Butter the bottom and sides of a 9x14 inch pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place a layer of macaroni in the bottom of the pan, then spread out a layer of sharp and mild cheese. Top with small slices of butter, salt and pepper. Continue layering, like lasagna, until everything is gone.
- Add enough milk until it reaches about 2/3 the way to the top.
- Bake uncovered until milk is gone. (I use a fork or knife to see if milk is in the bottom.)
