How to make it

  • 1) Make a paste of 3T Olive Oil
  • 1 t Crushed Garlic
  • 1 T Crushed Ginger
  • 1 T Brown Sugar
  • 2 t Five Spice Powder
  • Salt & Cayenne to taste
  • 2) Coat 4 Salmon Filets with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 1hour, making sure that the paste is all over the filets during the marinating process
  • 3) Melt 1 T Butter and pan fry 6 slices Bacon until chewy.
  • 4) Remove half of the Bacon Fat and the Bacon. Drain and chop the Bacon and add back.
  • 5) Add ½ c Chicken Stock.
  • 6) Add 1 head Cabbage, cored and thinly shredded.
  • 7) Add Salt & Pepper to taste. And cook covered over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring a couple of times. The Cabbage should be crisp, tender.
  • 8) Grill salmon with paste adhered on a George Foreman indoor grill for 4 minutes. Alternatively, you could broil the salmon. The George Foreman is better as it cooks both sides at the same time and thus keeps it moister.
  • 9) Serve Salmon on a bed of Baconated Cabbage.
  • Serves 4
