  • 4 ounces slivered almonds ,plus extra to garnish
  • 2 tbsp veg. oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 green cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp garlic pulp
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 12 ounces boneless chicken,cut into 1-1 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup light cream
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro, to garnish

Directions
  1. soak the almonds in warm wated for a couple of hours. drain and then process in a food processor or blender to a fine puree ; set aside.
  2. heat the oil in a pan and add cumin seeds,cloves,cardamom pods,garlic,grnd turmeric and bay leaves. when the spices begin to crackle , add onions and fry for 5-10 mins.
  3. add chkn and fry , stirring continuously.stir in almond puree and cook over low to medium heat for 15-20 mins.
  4. stri in the light cream, grnd cardamom and garam masala. add the sugar and salt to taste. cook for 3-5 mins longer.
  5. serve at once , garnished with a few almond slivers and chopped freash cilantro.
