How to make it

  • Easy vanilla glaze, or vanilla glaze, recipes follow
  • Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom and sides of rectangular pan, 13 x 9 inches with shortening. Lightly flour. Beat cake mix, oil, eggs and sour cream in large bowl with mixer on low speed 30 seconds; beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Spread half of the batter in pan. Mix brown sugar, pecans and cinnamon; sprinkle over batter in pan. Carefully spread remaining batter evenly over pecan mixture. Bake about 45 minutes or until deep golden brown. Prick surface of warm cake several times with fork. Drizzle easy vanilla glaze over cake. Run knife around side of pan to loosen cake. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
  • Vanilla Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 to 2 T. milk
  • 1/2 t. vanilla or clear vanilla
  • Mix powdered sugar, 1 T. milk and the vanilla. Stir in additional milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until smooth and consistency of thick syrup. Glazes top of one 12 cup Bundt cake, 10 inch angel food cake or 13 x 9 inch cake
  • Easy Vanilla Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy vanilla ready to spread frosting
  • Spoon frosting from tub into a microwavable bowl. Microwave uncovered on high about 15 second or until frosting can be stirred smooth and is thin enough to drizzle. or spoon frosting into 1 quart pan and heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until thin enough to drizzle. Glazes top of one 12 cup Bundt cake, 10 inch angel food cake, 13 x 9 inch cake or 8 to 9 inch layer cake.
