RED ONION RELISH This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Baxter Estate in Euless, Texas in 1989.

Ingredients
  • 1 large red onion peeled
  • 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar

Directions
  1. Thinly slice onion and separate into rings.
  2. Sauté onion with brown sugar and red wine over medium heat for 20 minutes.
  3. Add vinegar and bring to a boil stirring constantly.
  4. Serve over hot cooked fish.
