What is every one doing on Valentines Day? I usually cook something special.

Well, of course I have one wedding to deliver, and the days before that---delivering all the gourmet candies I sell each year (Truffles, caramels, cake truffles and other fudges, etc. wrapped beautifully in boxes with bows)-----but after that I'm going to ask Honey Darling Precious whether he'd rather dine out or eat in.....

VDay is my fave holiday. What're ya cookin', Sparow?

We will go out but not on the day. I will cook something special! Too much of a crowd in restaurants on that day.

What is it? On a Sunday? I'm sure I'll be cooking. Couldn't tell you the last time I had a romantic dinner.....*sigh*

I enjoy spending it with my girls and Steve usually gets me a nice gift. He just doesn't have much of a romantic in him....

    and expensive, too.

But I hate the idea of having to cook and clean up. Used to be that Fred would always surprise me with some Godiva or some fancy box of chocolate, but he hasn't remembered in the last few years, bless his heart. And I don't need the calories and the expense would bother me.

Maybe we could fondue for Valentine's? That is kind of fun, interactive and something different. Or I could make a cheese tray with crusty bread with some grapes, nuts and apples...just like when we had "romantic picnics" years ago. I think I'll do that, make up a picnic basket of goodies and drive him out to the beach for a sunset! Oh, I hope the weather is good.

    Aw, Wynne....that is romantic.

I can't imagine you are going to have the weather to have a romantic picnic....unless you enjoy freezing your buns in snow. Looks like a ginormous Nor'easter is heading your way.

Never one to eat in bed, can't handle the crumbs.......yuck. Only let the kids fix me breakfast on Mother's Day because they wanted to do it, but not my favorite thing to do.

Since it is a Sunday, what about a brunch with all the goodies? And then a lazy day cuddling in bed.

Or make a Valentine scavenger hunt round the house.....leave little clues and notes for meeting for a stolen kiss....I wish I was more creative to help.

Oh, Pat, I'm glad you are going to try the tomatoes. I just finished putting ours in the toaster oven to heat for supper. Just enough dinner tonight and a half tomato for tomorrow's lunch.

Horseradish and bacon on the baked potatoes sounds wonderful. Lucky Phil. Nice dinner.

I'm strategically on SABBATICAL this year---been very careful with the phones, ha! Boy, I was reading that post up there from last year and I am SO SO SO glad not to be that busy THIS year! Whew!

Looking over the recipes and finding inspiration...Right now I'm thinking of doing a super-duper easy lobster bisque recipe I found on AR, and making the raspberry parfaits I see up there in the recipes posted here. I will do them up early--and put them in those tall flutes I never get to use in the china cabinet.

After that, I'm thinking along the lines of LeClare---she's always great for inspiration! Probably some filets and taters.

Thanks for a great group, Gem!! :-)
