Adding Pictures of Recipes

  • dugger 13 years ago
I understand the add picture method in the edit function. But tonight I added a picture for in process steps. It promptly deleted my main recipe picture which I had to replace.

Then when I hit the button to add pictures from the recipe site it added two duplicates of the main picture. I assume that was my mistake but I do not see a way to delete them. That would be a good thing to know if I screw up again.

OK, I'm sorry for the alert. When I went back the pictures were gone. I understand server lag and that was probably the problem. Picture issue solved for now.

Now, how do I see the updated "in process" pictures?

They should be in the text of your post.. it will say "see photo" and if you click on that, the photo will come up over that part of the recipe...kinda cool, actually :)

here's one of mine with added photos, does yours look like this?

    Hey Dugger.

Here is the full rundown on how photos work:
    1) If you are the owner the recipe, you get priority for the "main" photo that represents the recipe. You can upload this photo when you first submit the recipe, or by using the "add yours" link under the grey placeholder photo. If you own the recipe, you may also use the brown edit button on the recipe page.

    2) If you want to upload another shot of the finished dish, use the "add yours" link under the main photo.

    3) If you want to upload a few "key shots" of difficult spots in the recipe, at the bottom of the "how to make it" section you'll see a link to "embed" photos. The subsequent page will then allow you to upload key step photos. After you upload a key step, a new section in the bottom right of the page will be revealed that lets you drag and drop a photo into your directions. This allows people to see a helpful photo popup after reading a difficult part of your recipe.
