Change is good..annoying to learn...but good

I haven't been on for quite a bit, but I have time again to visit and post now. It is a totally different site and I am happy to see something new happening here. It was always a great site, and I trust that it will continue to be. I have been a member for years. During that time there have been so many complaints about the changes everyone wanted and the ever present lament, "Where is Kris"? Well here are SOME changes and Kris is back. Give it a chance and like I said change is good..annoying to learn and adapt to, but usually good. As a reminder to all, and I have said this in the past...This site is FREE for all of us to enjoy. Someone else, Kris, who you don't pay a dime to, created and maintains this for your FREE use. Please try to be mindful, grateful, not too demanding and respectful of that.

Thanks for the post tillia! And you are spot on about change being the hardest part. As I've mentioned before, this is just the beginning. We now have a solid foundation to build an amazing recipe site.

    Enjoy.

Loving everything that I have seen so far...easy navigation, recipe sharing looks great although I have not tried it yet...I did easily print/save/bookmark a lot of new recipes...great back browser settings...a feature for comments on recipes you would like to try and a separate one for those you have tried...That was always a complaint in the old site from some...Great stuff so far...Awesome job...I hope that everyone enjoys the new site...I know I am.

Hi Kristopher, I'm kinda' new. Came over on Keni's Refugees. I'm likin' it. A little like wading through muddy water but the farther I go, the clearer it is getting. Thank you for all you do for us cookin' and eatin' types.

I've been a GR member for about 5 or 6 months now. I loved it when I first joined and I like it even better now. Change is always difficult -- mostly getting used to it -- but that's the nature of growth. Anyway, I'm glad to be here. Love and happy cooking to all.

Yes, thanks and kudos again to Kristopher. I’m still hoping for “private” bookmarked recipes (recipe box) and the ability to add all recipes to a group, but am pleased with the time and effort you have put into this project.

@lovebreezy, what do you mean by "private bookmarks"? Have you not been using grouprecipes.com/bookmarks ?

Just that I think the recipes I bookmark should only be seen by me. I just feel sorta violated to know that everyone else can see whatever recipe I save. This could lead to hurt feelings if (for example) I do not bookmark a friends recipe but rather a similar one posted by someone other than my friend. This is not a huge problem, it just buggs me.

@lovebreezy, I think people are rational enough to realize that bookmarks are for saving a recipe you might want to make later. Everyone has different tastes and can't be expected to try something just because a friend made it.
