    Pancake And Ground Beef Casserole

I do not enjoy being hard on a good recipe but there are some things I fell one should know. While yes this could be a great recipe I feel that the pancake part over took the rest of the recipe in volume. So I do suggest cutting the back to 1/2 and cut the baking powder back even more. Also a little more milk. I found that when I mixed the full amount together it was very thick. almost like a paste. Family did love the flavours and DH who does not enjoy sweet stuff for dinner did not find the topping to sweet.

I have looked at this recipe several times over the years, Nadine and there was just something about the sweet in it. I have made this one a few times and I like it much better. Maybe you might as well. Beef Yorkshire Pie

Nadine, thank you for the info. I always find it very helpful when one tries a recipe that does not work out as well as you thought and letting us know.Nice that the flavors were good.

I've never had a casserole like this before, sounds interesting! Too bad the pancake batter didn't work out for you Nadine.
I never add sugar to pancake batter when it's called for, and that seems like a lot more sugar than I've ever seen called for! Especially with a savory dish, I'd be much more inclined to leave it out.
I like that recipe Joce, thanks for posting it :)

Hi Good4U. It is great seeing you. It was sweet but not overly. The sugar is way higher in this recipe as comparied to other pancake recipes. Maybe cut it back some? Thank you for that recipe. I will be giving it a try for sure.

Hi Manella and the flavour will change with what ever spices you use in the beef mixture. That is the great thing about this recipe.

Hi Cosmicmother. Yah but I think if I cut back on the batter to 1/2 it will work out a lot better. More equal ratio. Good thought about the sugar.

I have never seen a recipe like this before! I'd be curious about how the sweet would work out, but it's good to hear y'all liked it :)

Hi ML2C. Yes it was sweet but not over powering so. My DH does not enjoy sweet at a meal but he sure loved the flavour of this recipe. LOL the only comment he made was about the amount of topping there was as compared to the rest.
