Recipe: White Chocolate Cinnamon And Spice Cookies

    **December 2016 Holiday Cookie Swap**

My review was going to say these taste like the “fragrance” of Christmas. You know when you walk into a store and smell the holiday potpourris’ and candles filled with cinnamon, cloves and all of the wonderful spices. Then I looked at the description on the recipe and it says, “they smell and taste like Christmas.” Yes, it does! Oh, so good! Very similar to a chocolate chip cookie, but a little more cake like. I thought the almond extract seemed out of place, but I didn’t notice and it at all. It’s a perfectly spiced holiday cookie! The recipe says in makes 2 dozen, but I got closer to 4 doz. I used a #2 cookie scoop which is standard size and the bake time listed in the recipe was perfect. Thank you CookinSherri for sharing your recipe.

These would go perfect on our Christmas cookie tray! I would have to do half with white chocolate chips and half with regular chocolate chips. We have some white chocolate haters here lol :)

Those look like a perfect bakery-shop cookie Diz! :)
I love white chocolate, so much-that I rarely use it since I would eat too much of it!
I never thought to pair it with spices before, I might have to try this with dried cranberry instead of nuts.
White chocolate haters?? Never heard of such a thing! Lol ;) ;)

How pretty and festive DIZ! Whoever family/friends that are going to get those are very lucky people! I'm bookmarking that to try for sure. Gorgeous pic. Dried cranberries would be lovely Shona.

Thank you everyone! Sent cookies to work with hubby. Mostly guys so no feedback, but the cookie tray was empty. That's all that counts.

LOL, that's true DIZ3. I used to bring cookies for my staff when I managed a Hardware store and the way I knew if they were well received is HOW FAST they disappeared. If they were gone within an hour that was awesome. If they lasted 'til noon, not so much. :)

Made these this afternoon and the house smells lovely. Used vanilla as opposed to almond extract as I really dislike almond extract. The best things about these cookies is the texture, very soft and almost fluffy inside. I just divvied the cookie batter out with two tbsp. and ended up with 23 cookies. :) Thanks DIZ3 for bringing these to my attention.

Yours look great Janet! I'm trying to remember if I've ever had almond extract before, the only extracts I have in my pantry besides vanilla is coconut and lemon. I'll be making these soon :)

Mommyluvs2cook, I love almond flavored anything. Cookies, cakes, glazes, etc. One thing I'm weird about is pure almond extract vs imitation/artificial almond flavoring. I don't know why, but I like McCormick's imitation almond the best. I have a really hard time finding the imitation as more and more stores want to carry their own brand or off brands. When I finally found it this year, I stocked up with enough to get me through next year.

LOL DIZ3. Yes, I made large cookies. What's the expression....'GO BIG OR GO HOME'. ?:) That's good you managed to bank a stock of McCormick's imitation almond extract to see you through the year! I like almonds but nothing almond flavoured. LOL.
