All Natural Almond Butter

Recipe by Bitsyskitchen. All Natural Almond Butter
Relatively quick and definitely easy. Used a small food processor as I only needed 6 to 7 ounces.
As the recipe header says, it's a cost saver.

Points....my son loves Almond Butter and it's really expensive. I checked this recipe out but feel I'm missing something because it just calls for almonds, period. Am I reading it right that you don't mix the processed almonds with some butter or margarine?

if I may, Chuckie, nut butters should be pure nuts, and nothing else. Peanut butter, too. :) Most nuts are naturally pretty oily,so it's those oils that provide the "butter" part! :)

Wow.....that's very neat. Thanks Keni. I've seen all natural peanut butter in stores and it looked fairly oily and I just assumed oil was added. And because it was called "Almond Butter", I just assumed it was Almonds and Butter. Thanks!

There's probably salt or other preservative in the store stuff so make up only what you will use in a short time.

If one refrigerated it would it last a week or two do you think?

Hey, again, Chuckie :) Just like with regular butter, I would recommend making nut butters only as you need to use them, or refrigerate for a few days. Otherwise, just add the dash of salt, again, just like butter, and it adds a lot of life to the finished butter without really any taste. :)
