Baked Oatmeal

    Recipe by Youtoo1955: Baked Oatmeal
Really rich and sweet. It's like eating a warm oatmeal cookie for breakfast. I'm not saying that as a bad thing.
Used heavy cream only because I had a partial container opened.
In making it again I would decrease the oil and sugar a little.
Crocked it only for the minimal time so it wouldn't be so much like granola.
Have to make this in the middle of the night to have it for breakfast. Not sure I'm happy about that.
    Sorry, no pic.

I'm not an oatmeal fan anyway, but force myself to eat it for health reasons. I don't like the idea of oil in this recipe. Making quick-cooking oatmeal takes two minutes, so messing around with a crockpot seems more trouble than it's worth to me.

Yea, you would have to get up at 4 or 5 AM to have this ready for morning, no point in going back to sleep after that!! Agree with Bakerme, I'd just stick with the quick cooking oats!

I guess you could make this for someone coming home from school on a snowy day. I guess. :) It does look good with the egg addition.
