    Beer Battered Cod
Cod was on sale this week and I hate passing it up when its on sale! I decided to try a little experiment after I read a recipe that said to put the batter in the refrigerator for an hour before frying. So, I did that. This batch of fish was not as crispy as the batch I made last week but it was very good. I am finding I like using Guinness in a beer batter. I like the flavor and color it adds.

It looks really good, Frankie. I wonder if the temperature of the oil, has anything to do with it, and also the type of beer used? Awesome pics!

Thank you, ladies. I'm not certain what makes for a super crispy fried fish but I think I am going to change my profile to read that I am in search of the perfect technique and recipe for batter fried fish. I am on a mission now. :-)
Thank you, MFW. That's my three legged senior Buster. I adopt senior dogs. I am on numbers four and five right now. I don't get to have them for very long but the time I do have with them is very rewarding. I have had Buster for one year now. He is 12.

We have an Aussie shepherd mix that I picked up years ago, running loose, in the middle of nowhere, dumped apparently. He is almost 12 now, arthritic, almost deaf, and showing signs of the beginning of doggie dementia. Old dogs are special creatures. We are keeping a close watch on him and our 19 year old outdoor cat (on my avatar), also.

Old doggies are the best. I like them because they are low energy and are housebroken already. :) Your kitty looks so big! 19 years is old for a cat. The oldest cat I have ever known was 21. I hope yours passes that up.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I make this recipe more than I probably should. It's a Boston thing, I guess! Gotta have our fish n chips! Thanks for the wonderful review!

This heated up really well in my toaster oven and got nice and crispy. Good leftovers!

Thank you, ml2c. I'm really blessed that I am able to do what I do. It isn't the hobby for everyone, that's for certain.

The vet doesn't think Butterscotch will last the summer because of heart problems. For an outdoor farm cat, he has done well. The average life of a farm cat is two years. We had one indoor cat that lived to be 20, but he is not destined to follow.

Awww, well it sounds like Butterscotch has had a very good life. I feed ferals and I know the outside ones have it tough. Give him a pat for me - if he will let you. :)
