Bodacious Chocolate Marshmallow Bars

My daughter was wanting to make something sweet so we hopped on GR and both agreed on this! We left the nuts out so daddy would eat them :) My marshmallows took a long time to even somewhat melt so I just squished them down the best I could...maybe they were slightly outdated or something? Anyway, the texture of this bar is so good! The soft, cake like bottom, then the marshmallows and the crunchy chocolaty top! Oh and we successfully halved this recipe, and used a 8x8 dish. Thanks Sparow!

Oh my Goodness Michelle! That looks amazing! I don't make desserts a lot but I actually have this HUGE bag of marshmallows in my pantry from a Bonfire earlier on this summer. Hate to throw them out and could use a bunch in this. Love peanut butter and who doesn't like chocolate. :) Thanks for sharing. Bookmarked. Great pic.

I bookmarked this as well! A bit to sweet for me but I know my Grand-kids would love this:) A neat trick that I learned from Pinterest is to put a few marshmallows into your brown sugar and they keep it nice and soft. Great pic Michelle! I bet it is hard to keep the kids away from this:) It would also look very nice on a sweet tray when entertaining or when you have to send things to school. Do they still do that? I know my Son still does sometimes for school things here.

I probably would never make desserts if it wasn't for having kiddos!! Let us know if you give these a try! :)

Hey G4U! I knew that putting little pieces of bread in brown sugar kept it fresh fresh, but marshmallows is a new one to me...so funny! Do they get super hard like the bread does?
Yes kiddos still get to bring stuff to school, but only at holiday parties and on your own birthday...

No Michelle the marshmallows don't get as hard as the bread does. I have been using the little ones lately and you LOL just have to remember they are in there:)

Wow, that looks so good! I'd leave out the nuts, too. I think that's great that your daughter wanted to make something.
Nice trick about the marshmallows. I didn't know that!
