I tasted this before I put it in the oven and was not sure how I liked it. It just tasted strange to me. I added some needed salt and hoped for the best. Since I used a dutch oven I skipped the baking dish and just threw it in. After coming out it tasted much better. If I did make this again I would cut way back on the sauce and just serve the chicken with a little of the juice with no rice. The onions were really good ;)

That is quite a bit of liquid. Kind of reminds me of the Baine Marie method. Maybe you could simmer the liquid until reduced by half to kick up the flavor and keep the liquid from sucking the moisture out of the chicken, turning it a little dry.

It was a TON of liquid points! And it wasn't a liquid I felt needed to be served over rice either. I just can't describe it, there was no orange flavor at all left, it wasn't bad at all just not something I'd serve with spoon fulls of the liquid over rice. It would have been good like I said just with a small amount of the sauce on the chicken itself no rice! Simmering it down might have brought out some more orange flavor, BUT I didn't use "real" OJ either so maybe that was a problem?

I had a bottle of SunnyD here one time. I'm not certain how I came across it. I looked at the label and I could not believe the amount of sugar in that stuff! I did use it in a recipe and it turned out OK but I'm only buying real orange juice from now on.
