    Great recipe. I thought the batter was a little thin but maybe that's the way it is supposed to be. Recipe came out as claimed. Just enough batter to get the job done.

    Points, thanks for the great photo and honest review. The batter is supposed to be rather thin but not real runny. I didn't specify the type of flour to use (I ususally use all purpose) so you may have to add or subtract a little flour to suit your taste.

    Lebanese cooks resist using batter anyway and the ones they make tend to be thinner to let the taste of the vegetable come through. My grandmother would fry cauliflower and eggplant in oil without any batter whatsoever.
