Chili Con Carne

Recipe by Silentc: Chili Con Carne No Kidney Beans/saved
It's a nice chili. A little watery but that can be fixed with some corn starch or drain the beans and some of the juice of the tomato. There will be plenty of juice once you snip the tomatoes up. I guess you're supposed to do that.
You can lay on a little more spice and not hurt the recipe at all.
I like the 'shrooms in the mix. Used fresh instead of canned.
Couldn't find the Roma beans. Used a can of mixed white beans instead, and I think there were white kidney beans in the mix. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
The garbanzo beans and 'shrooms made a nice alternative texture in the chili.
Another crock pot recipe that's quick to put together. Put it on at 5 and let it simmer 'till lunch time on LO.

Never heard of garbanzos in a chili...sounds good! That does look like not enough spice. Thanks for the post pso!

That amount of "heat" in that recipe looks like what I'd do. :) I've never heard of romano beans. Your version looks very tasty, pso.
I took a look at her other recipes as I don't recall "seeing" her before. She has a biscuit recipe posted that looks kind of interesting.

Those biscuits look a little squatty. If I make them I'll back off on the cream so the dough is not sticky.
