Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

As soon as DIZ posted these I knew they would go into the Christmas cookies line up :) These are moist, chocolate-y, and delicious. I threw them in the freezer for about an hour and half to get them cold faster, which seemed to work out very well. My first batch though I think I took too long getting them on the trays, because they did spread when cooking quite a bit. My second batch I started with only doing one tray at a time, because I think baking cookies goes better in my oven that way. Plus I got the tray in there quick and they came out perfectly round and thicker. Thanks DIZ for an awesome cookie :) :)

Oh...I forgot to say I substituted coconut oil for the vegetable oil and it worked out fantastic!

Those look delicious, Mommyluvs2cook! I love chocolate crinkles, but have never had good luck getting them to come out chewy and moist. Yours looks both!

Thank You, Mommyluvs2cook! I'm so glad you enjoyed the recipe. Beautiful photo! I'm happy you were able to resolve the spreading issue. They are supposed to spread some, just not flat. I've had them go flat, too, and I think it's because my dough wasn't cold enough and/or I make them too big. I seem to have the best luck with 1" size cookie balls. Have a Merry Christmas!

Thanks everyone!! These went over super well at our family Christmas today....and looked so pretty on my favorite Christmas plate :) Yeah they definitely spread because they weren't cold DIZ, I knew better and still put them in the oven, my fault!! No biggie though, taste just as good :)
