By: Keni French Dips Au Enhanced Jus/saved My husband has been craving one of these and I usually cheat and buy deli roast beef and beef consome to make it. I wanted to do it from scratch this time and found this in my box. It was so much better than before!! My son tasted one taste of the Au Jus and ran to grab a spoon lol! I told him it wasn't soup and made him put it up! I made this with Keni's Chili Lime Potato Wedges These are great too! Lots of flavor. For the steak seasoning I used Penzey's Northwoods Fire seasoning, which has all the ingredients Keni listed, plus some. I meant to put the cheese on but forgot, but I thought they were perfect as is. Now the sauce that is recommended is delicious! I used a habanero salsa, so it was super spicy, but very good! Thanks Keni
An au jus jacuzzi. haha Well, shoot, I've never had cheese on a French dip and wanted to know what it was like. Darn! :-D That does look like a time consuming recipe. Did you leave the juice out of the refrigerator like Keni says she did? Those potato wedges look good, too. I've never had an au jus that I wanted to eat with a spoon. Must have been delicious!
Your such a comedian! lol ;) The only way I've ever had French dip is WITH cheese, couldn't imagine it without it though... It's not time consuming as in labor intensive, just waiting mainly, and we had nothing to do today so perfect timing! I did leave the juice sitting on the stove, lid on, and I forgot to say that the fat did come to the top and I just scooped it out into the sink.
Oh, yeah. Taking the fat off. I love when you can do that! Only had a French dip with cheese? Really! I've never seen them served that way! Y'all do funny things in Texas. :-P haha I need to try that. Adding Provolone sounds great.
Actually I've gotten better, I can eat thin slices of meat now, like deli meat (from the counter) not pre packaged... and so this worked out good since it was thin. I just don't like the big chunks of meat yet. Swiss cheese is good on them to IMO...
