Fried Cucumbers

    A nice fried vegetable recipe. Takes the raw cuke' taste away.
    Didn't know how to salt and pepper to taste on this one. So I just added a little of each. Could have used more.
    Prepped all the slices before starting to fry them. The cuke's flouring got sticky waiting in cue for the frying pan. Suggest salting and flouring just before going into the pan. Had to slice the slices in half to fit the frying pan.
    Used a medium-high heat for the first couple of batches then lowered the heat to medium. It takes 2 minutes/side to fry.
    Added more shortening and butter as necessary.
    Cuke's hold their heat well. Don't be concerned about rushing them to the table before they get cold.

    I never would have thought to fry those! I just recently ate cucumber cooked in a stir fry and it wasn't bad! I agree with you that they taste more mild. Cool recipe ;)
