Recipe by Quinbb: Garlic Cheese Bread
There is plenty of recipe here to make more than one french loaf. I made two small loaves, baugettes(sp) and there was enough left over for one more. And I slathered it on quite heavily.
Recipe is on the salty side.If I make it again I will use garlic powder as opposed to garlic salt.
Twelve minutes are just enough time to start browning with a hint of crispiness.

Sounds good, never thought to use cream cheese...I always use garlic powder Points, I also think garlic salt is just way too salty..for me anyway!

Yeah I agree when a recipe calls for garlic salt I always use garlic powder out of habit. This looks good, Never seen a garlic bread without cheddar!!

I never thought about using cream cheese either. Does everything all melt in or is there still some of the spread on it?
Another one who just has garlic powder in the house. :)

It all melts down into the bread, even when I put on a thick layer.
I have salted, peppered, and powdered garlic just so I'll have the ingredient when called for. Had some misgivings when making up the recipe but went ahead and followed the recipe per spec. I should listen to myself every now and then.
