Guajillo Spiced Shrimp

These are AMAZING! There is this donut place down the road and I love their "hot sauce". It's not a typical hot sauce, it's more pasty, but oh so good. This marinade reminds me of it, almost identical! I scraped the flesh out of the skin of the pepper after it had been rehydrated, I think the skin blended up would leave a left a weird texture. I wonder if she meant to put that into the recipe, or if she assumed people would know to do that? Or for all I know she could have left the skin on, but honestly think it would have been chewy. The marinade really sticks to the shrimp while being grilled and is so flavorful. I would say some of the best grilled shrimp I've had! Thanks Sharebear, love your recipes!!

I bookmarked this recipe cause I think it would make a great football appetizer:) Rick adores shrimp, especially with a little heat added to the mix:)
I do the same, get rid of the skin on peppers/chiles:)
    Such a great picture Michelle!

These look wonderful Michelle! Great picture! I think I'd love these but don't know how hard it's going to be for me to find the Guajillo peppers. I bookmarked the recipe and will keep a look out. Good to know about the pepper skins as I would not have known that.

I've never heard of that kind of chili before. What is the heat level? They sure do look delicious.

Thanks everyone :) They barely have a spiciness to them FA. The bag actually say's 6,000 heat units. My bag of dried chipotle chili's say 15,000 heat units so I think you would be able to handle it!
