    Hamburgers My Way
This burger has a lot of flavor to it! I've never used black bean and garlic sauce before but I found it right away in the Oriental section of my supermarket. I grilled mine over charcoal.

Interesting...I have never heard of black bean & garlic sauce:) So, was it too salty? I'm not a big fan of salty anything..maybe I could use less of the sauce if I made this...What a beautiful pic FA!

Thank you, Marie! Yes, it is really salty. I tasted a bit of it on its own. Very salty and very garlicky with a strong kinda smoky like flavor which I am guessing is how concentrated black beans must taste. You get the salt, then the garlic then the other flavor. It isn't spicy. Its very different.

Just did a bit of reading on this sauce. The beans are fermented which would also explain the different flavor.

I haven't used black bean sauce in forever but I've probably only used it maybe twice? I would have never thought of it in a burger though, how creative! Great picture :)

    Thank you, Michelle. :)
I guess its mostly used in stir fry, from what I have read. Potstickers, too.

Oh I am so glad you enjoyed this!
Yes, black bean and garlic paste is very salty and strong, a little goes a long way!
I forgot about this recipe, need to do these soon again ;)
    Thank you Frankieanne!
