Honey-nectarine Clafouti

Recipe by Gkwillow: Honey Nectarine Clafouti
    Very tasty dish.
Just happened to have some spiced canned peaches.
Used peach honey instead of bee honey. It's the simmering liquid used to make the canned peaches then reduced down to a honey consistency.
No photo as my batter covered the peaches.

I'm happy to hear that, Frankieanne! I had a little left that I just pulled out of the refrigerator - it was a little watery, but still very tasty cold.

I made two of them. One for the fridge. The one in the fridge was not watery at all the next day. Yes it is good cold. Mother prefers it warm.

Hey "mad woman with the whisk", thanks for the wonderful comment! Glad you liked it. Maybe you could have a contest to guess how many of the nectarines float and how many stick to the bottom! ;) I remember (way back when I was a kid) we drove by (on the way to visit my grandparents) a building that housed train cars. I always wanted to play a game and guess how many cars were there and the loser had to buy lunch. (But my dad had to buy lunch no matter who won or lost!!!) ;D

Points - what kind of milk/cream did you use? Just curious to know if that is what makes the difference of the custard being a bit "watery" after being chilled...

    Cute story, Willow!
Actually I was pretty successful and think the one's that floated won the race ;) There was probably only 3 or 4 that didn't make it. Actually I had no idea they would float to the top! I was under the impression that I would flip the whole thing out of the pan upside down revealing the nectarines. I was quite surprised when I pulled this out of the oven and saw them sitting there on top! I guess the finished product of your picture STILL in the pie pan didn't clue me in lol! I used 2 % milk and plan on having some tomorrow night after dinner so I'll let you know the water consistency on mine too ;)

I used whole milk. Also used home canned peaches, if that makes a difference. Nothing floated. Maybe it's the difference from peaches and nectarines. Or maybe the difference from fresh to canned.

Mine was not watery and delicious cold! Peaches to me seem heavier than nectarines. Maybe thats why? Could be the canned thing too...

I made this yesterday. I really liked it this morning. It was really cold and I think it tasted better that way. Mine wasn't watery either but I wanted to wash up the pan so I took the leftovers out and put them in a bowl. Not sure if that's why or not! Added my picture as well!

Oh, thanks so much. But, truthfully, the nectarine wasn't totally ripe. I just couldn't wait any longer though! :)
