Hot hot hot the challenge!

Thanks to P7O for the suggestion... dare? Challenge? Whatever.... I tried this salsa posted by Chew Meow

    Do You Dare Salsa

I halved the recipe and couldn't find smoked habaneros, so I used 2 habaneros, 2 chipotles, and 2 jalapenos, with seeds. And 3 sweet peppers.

I also used lime juice instead of balsamic vinegar. And, no Vidalias this time of year, so used another sweet onion.

Yes, it's hot. The flavor is good, but not the best salsa I've ever had. For me, it really was one of those hot just for the sake of being hot, recipes. Kind of like those comedians who swear every other word. What might otherwise be funny gets lost in the profanity. That's kinda like this recipe. It's flavor is fine, but it's not what sets it apart. The heat does that.

I DO like the smokiness, though. Adds a taste of "roasted" to the salsa, which I enjoyed.

Maybe it can be used as a rub on sore muscles.

There's plenty of capsaicin in this recipe to rub down a slew of first time horseback riders after a 20 mile ride. :-)

That pic looks great. It seems like it has some definite heat. I like hot. It looks like the flavor would get lost in the heat. While I wouldnt make this, I would eat it if it was in front of me. .
