Best Split Pea Soup! and so easy to make. I use 4 c. of chicken stock (that's how much is in the box) and 1 c. of water. Also add some diced celery and thyme. I like it thick and use 3 heaping Tbs. of instant mashed potato flakes and use the milk per individual serving and to each person's taste. Delicious and really hits the spot when the weather is dreary and/or cold.

I bookmarked this one:) What a great idea to add mashed potato flakes to the soup to make it thicker! I usually always add celery to soup..gives it so much flavor! I can hardly wait for "soup weather":)

That looks like a good pea soup recipe. I think my dad would love that one. Almost time for the crock pot! I love using mine. Thanks for joining us here in IMI, LindaLMT.

I haven't made pea soup in forever, I would have never thought to add potato flakes as a thickener!
