Incredible Barbeuced Beans

Posted by indicatorsrule1. These were good, but while I was eating them, I kept thinking "needs onion, needs onion" but maybe that's just me. Added a photo.

It sounds like a quick and easy recipe! I like your idea of adding onions...maybe even some bacon would be nice!

I love this one...I've made them many times for large parties and its always eaten up real quick! They take along time to cook but it is so worth it!

    Incredible Barbecued Beans
Have the beans soaking. Will add the onion sauteed with smoked bacon. Should pair up good with the baby back ribs slated for tomorrow.

Thank you, lillian and keni. I do love beans and like to try new recipes for them. I will keep those in mind.

Indicatorsrule1 left me a message saying that onion sounded like a good idea. I will be interested in hearing how they turn out for you, pso, especially as you are adding onion and bacon.

Adding half a pound of smoked bacon, cut up, in the simmering beans. Sauteing one medium size onion in a half pound of smoked bacon, cut up, to be added to the beans with the Bbq sauce. Deglaze the saute with a couple tablespoons of wine.
Using my tangy Bbq sauce recipe.

Beans turned out very well. Only thing I didn't double up on was the mustard. Next time I will. So go ahead and add the onion and bacon.

I simmered the beans for 2 hours. Maybe could have increased the time by a half an hour. Every now and then I bite into a bean that wants to be hard. Added my picture.
