Incredible Barbecued Beans

- 1 pound bag dried pinto beans, soaked overnight in water to cover. shopping list
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups BBQ sauce (your favorite) shopping list
- 1 Tbsp prepared mustard shopping list
- 1 heaping Tbsp chili powder shopping list
- 1 cup chopped onions shopping list
- 1/2 pound smoked bacon shopping list
How to make it
- Drain the beans. Add the drained beans to a large saucepan and cover with fresh cold water. Bring the water just to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the beans until tender. Drain the beans well.
- Saute onions with the bacon until onions are done and bacon cooked.
- To the drained beans in the saucepan, add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Heat over medium low heat ( with lid) until the flavors are blended and the mixture is hot throughout approximately 1 hour.

Going to try this tomorrow.
Nice beans. Doubled the recipe. Added an onion and a pound of smoked bacon. Sauteed the onion in half the bacon, cut up. Used my own tangy Bbq sauce.
