Monkey Stew

    Recipe by Donman: Monkey Stew/saved
A nice thick meat and potatoes stew in a tomato base. This ain't no wannabe soup, it's as thick as a stew should be. Well flavored comfort food, even it there aren't any monkeys looking back at me.
Think the simmer time is a little bit long. My spuds were done at 45 minutes. And I singed my tongue eating this while it was too hot.

Great photo, Points! We like really thick stew, too. The kind you almost have to eat with a fork!

That does look good but do you know why it is called "monkey" stew? I've never heard of such a thing.

I'm thinking it's just an eye catcher for the recipe. OR someone took the monkey meat out and added ground beef.
