    One Pot Sensational Chicken Leah

This chicken is soooooooo gooooooooooooood. But it is not without need for clarification in the recipe.

It used garlic but is not spec'ed in the list of ingredients, only in the destructions. I am conflicted on the cloves ingredient usage. Think there is a mistake in the amounts of cloves or cloves of garlic.

Went ahead and used half a dozen cloves of garlic and a quarter teaspoon of ground cloves instead of 4 to 6 cloves spears.

The breast pieces turned out a little on the dry side but all else was very juicy.

Had to break out my big cooking pot so all the chicken pieces could lay on the bottom without crowding. It looks like a big stir fry pan with loop handles on either side and a big domed lid. First time using this pot.

The chicken stock usage was a little sketchy on the amount. Had to reference the picture to adjust the stock level.

Boiled up some rice with the liquid poured off the chicken pot instead of pouring it on white rice so the meal took an extra half hour.

Used black seedless grapes because they were cheaper.

Mother raved about this dish. She didn't even know it had wine in it. Oh BTW, I used a zinfandel rose wine.

Hope Diva will make clarifications in the recipe. This recipe does impress. Might just make your mini-skirt spin around a few times.

I like the "pointed" review. It really helps when you go to make something. I've printed this out and think I would just use thighs so the cooking time is on a level playing field.

Diva contacted me about the recipe. Waiting for her to make changes to it. Says that the 4 to 6 cloves are indeed supposed to be cloves of garlic. That's good to know but I'm still conflicted about the cloves of garlic and the cloves reference in step 13 of the destructions. I am going to make this dish again today and not use any ground or whole cloves, just cloves of garlic.

Diva is just out of the hospital. I didn't get into the specifics. My insensitive guy qualities shining through.

It keeps my nose from getting bent!

I think a bit of ground cloves makes this dish interesting but at a 1/4 teaspoon might be a little much, for me at least, I would go with 1/8 teaspoon next time or maybe a couple of spears pinned into a couple pieces of the meat.

thanks everyone - and I have since corrected the recipe - for both cloves of garlic and a few 'kernels' of cloves...as for the amount of stock and wine - you want about 2-3 cups depending upon the amount of chicken you are making.

And points, as for the chicken being a little dry, you may want to cook it less time, since it's really cooking in the liquid, it should be very moist...

Am breathing way better - thanks everyone!

And in light of this recipe being reviewed...would love to try one of your's out there...so if you have a suggestion - Im game!

Glad you made changes to the recipe. I will back off on the simmer time just a little. And the cooking stock and wine turns out just right at 3 cups so I can boil up some rice when I decant it off the chicken. Do you think the cloves of garlic will be better just thrown in the mix or pinned to several of the chicken pieces?
