Recipe by 55to64: Onion Pan Bread/saved
I was expecting more from this bread. With all the savory flavorings it didn't have that much flavor. I'm stumped.
Mother said it didn't have any flavor and she is correct.
I used salami as the meat topping. It reminds me of an oven pancake and very fluffy indeed.
It's an upside down quick cheese bread with onions, meat, and brown sugar.
Since the topping already had brown sugar I added molasses and honey to try to slavage the flavorless bread. It helped a little.
Picture is mouth watering but not in the palate.

The ingredients make it sound like it would be good! Maybe with the meat it could use some herbs or something. Nice pictures though!

I'm confused...the bread is cooked on top of the meat and onions? B/C it says to spread the batter over them and then at the end it says to spead the onions on top of the bread. Maybe I'm reading it to fast and missing something. I wouldn't mind trying this one out if I can figure out the directions...lol!

I understand your confusion. The instructions were trying to make sure you serve the dish, onion side up. You flip it out of the baking pan upsidedown so the onions are on top.
