Quick Tasty Yeast Dinner Rolls

Recipe by Lizzynola: Quick Tasty Yeast Dinner Rolls/saved
It is a quick recipe but IMHO not as tasty as a dough left to rise with at least half the yeast in the standard amount of time.
I didn't have quick rise yeast so I had to do a hand knead and double rise, which was quick too. Didn't brush the cut sides with melted butter either. Didn't want to seal the sides from a good rise. Good oven spring. Did brush the tops with butter fresh out of the oven.
Didn't go for the more elegant 1x4 dinner roll. Mine were 3 by. I have a different purpose for my rolls. Made 12 rolls.

I think I want to try those. I like the idea of putting them in a pan like that. Two packages of yeast, huh? I'm definitely curious. Thank you for showing us, pso. Yours look wonderful!
Took me a couple of minutes to figure out that "war water" must be "warm water." I must be tired. :)

I made these today. I also made 12. I didn't like the crunchy outside though. I like a softer roll. But the flavor was very, very good. I didn't have butter flavored shortening so I used half butter and half shortening. I forget to melt it though so I just made sure I stirred it in really well. Added some pictures to the recipe.

I stored these in a freezer zipper bag last night and that helped take some of the crunchy off the outsides.
