Recipe Reviews

I'm so confused about all the recent recipe reviews. Most of them seem to be from years ago. Time after time, I click on the thread just to find it's an old review, and not always by an I Made It group member. Having to wade through all of the posts one by one is very frustrating and time consuming. Is there any rhyme or reason to this??

Bakerme, I have noticed that, too. Not sure why this is happening?

    Hello all,

I am integrating Lovebreezy's Beta Review List with the new recipes Frankieanne has collected since Lovebreezy has gone MIA.

It does entail linking some new reviews with some old reviews on the same recipe and adding review links to recipes.

These are the new IMI threads you are being frustrated with. It is a necessary evil to get an updated reviews list. Please be patient. The quicker I can get through these 5000 reviews the quicker IMI will get back to normal.

The new reviews list will take you to any review for any recipe in IMI. So you will be able to access IMI's history by recipe or by review.

Points, I'm not a technology tech by a long shot, but it seems to me those recipes can be added to a master list on your home computer, then copied and pasted here. That would avoid all the confusion in the group.

Pso, your answer is very confusing. Plus, "the new recipes Frankieanne has collected" does not make sense.

I'm afraid I don't understand either. I get the linking of previous IMI reviews. If I make a recipe and another IMI member already posted a review, then I need to put my review in the same thread. The way I have been determining that is by looking at the other reviews to see if there is an IMI link.

This is the one that confuses me. Mud Pie Cookies When I look at the recipe, it just looks like someone left a review a long time ago and now the recipe is being added to IMI. That's where I'm confused. I just thought recipes in IMI were supposed to be ones that WE actually made and reviewed. I know other GR members who leave reviews, but do not wish to participate in IMI.

I have indeed copied Lovebreezy's Beta Review List to my home computer. I can not copy and paste the new recipes listed under the recipes tab in the IMI group. I have to massage that information page at a time, then recipe at a time on the page. I am through 26 pages of over 100 pages of recipes. These are the new recipes the moderator of the IMI group has added to the IMI group. These are the recipes that I am integrating into the Beta Review List, making a new and complete database.

What the new Review List will do for you:

You are searching for recipes that have been made by group members and well rated, 4-star or better. That keeps out the "lemon recipes". That is a function of the IMI group.
The Review List alphabetizes the recipes under one string that will allow you to scan through the recipes faster than you ever could by pulling up keywords under the recipes tab in the IMI group. The Review List is organized by reviews first, then recipes. Although what you will see in the Review List is the recipe name. When the recipe name is clicked on, the review of the recipe will come up first, then there is a link provided to go to the recipe.
I find searching a recipe through the Review List much more satisfying than working through the recipe list. But that's just me.

What you are seeing in the Comments tab of the IMI group:

are all of the wonderful reviews that you, the audience and participants, are providing. Each recipe can have one review or multiple reviews. These multiple reviews must be linked together to give you the most information we can about the recipe. If I don't link the reviews, others will. And we don't want to be accused of ignoring someones review.
In combing through the Beta Review List, I do find certain mistakes and updates that need be corrected. It is these updates to the review comments you see that are pushing your comments down in the Comments tab. I don't have a better way of posting the updates.

I am sorry for any inconvenience I have caused.
I am pushing through this updated Reviews List as fast as I can. It is a tedious job and I think you will like the end result. I commend Lovebreezy for all the work she put into the Beta Review List endeavor.

    MUD PIE COOKIES:

Sheperdsrescue is or was a member of the IMI group. Yes the review was a long time ago. Yes the new Review List is meant to be a comprehensive list of reviews. This particular review has always been in the Beta Review List but the link-ups were not completed. I found the error while combing through it all and completed the link-up.

I understand what your trying to do Points, and it is a huge undertaking for sure!

But I still don't see why the old recipes have to have a review in IMI, like the Mud pies for example? Yes, it was added to IMI a long time ago, with no IMI review. But I thought it was recently established that not all the recipes added to the IMI group need a review in IMI?
As long as it was rated and made by another member, it can be added to IMI even if the reviewer does not participate in IMI. That's my understanding!?
I think you're going to come across a lot of recipes with no IMI review, and I just don't see a purpose in adding a review/link to them in IMI now?
We can see the review by clicking on the recipe if we're searching the bookmarks in Reviews.....right??
Oh my gosh, this all very confusing, lol ;)

I stand corrected. The comment was on the recipe page. You are correct in your understanding. Lovebreezy was over exuberant in adding to the Beta Reviews List, which is where I found this recipe. All recipes in the new Review List must have a review, for the review list to work right, or will be provided one in the best fit method.
It is true that once you find the recipe that you can click on the review link, if any. But without a review link, one can't get to the recipe from the Review List.

I have found several recipes only rated 3-stars that I have had to delete from the Beta Review List.

Another good thing about the new Review List is that a link can be made from the reviews to the recipe of authors that are no longer with us, without having to go through the recipe acceptance procedure by the moderator of the IMI group.
Examples are Keni and Grizzly and Pleclare, to mention a few. This is nice because the software here at GR will now only let the author of a recipe submit their recipes to a group. This is a work-around and will be used judiciously to keep from abuse. No usurp of power intended at all to the moderator of IMI.

Pso is going to continue his monumental task but there will be no more links posted to IMI in regards to that task.
    Thank you, everyone. :-)
