This was not as good as I thought it would be! Its not Points' fault because its not his recipe...its from Fleischmann's! Its very dry and not much flavor! I had such high hopes for this one...Oh well, I'll still be searching for a great cornbread recipe!

Thanks anyway Points! I'll still be able to use the leftovers for Mrtnzangel's 'Little Tamale Bites' recipe that I'm making in a couple of days!

I wish I could claim that recipe as my own. Little Tamale Bites belongs to Rosemaryblue. She's got some great ones. I did, however, post the pic. The pic I posted is made with larger meatballs. You can roll em small or large....I even heard that Wynnebaer made them into mini meatloaves.

Hey, Lillian, what are you doing? It's Points' job to critisize the recipes here! LOL
Sorry, I am just having a little fun with this one, couldn't help it!
I looked at the recipe, and it sounded OK. Pretty much the same as most cornbreads. I also add some butter to my cornbread slices when they are warm, and it totally transforms it. In fact, so far all the cornbread recipes I've tried are best eaten warm/hot and with a slab of butter. I agree about 1 envelope of yest being enough here.

I'm tempted to make it again and massage the recipe a little to see what I can get.
It's a 2 loaf recipe. Two packs of yeast should have to be used, but what do I know.

I was disappointed at the recipe on first making. I'm glad someone corroborated my findings. Maybe I'll go to a standard rise yeast for a double rise and to get more flavor. I have never been happy with any of my quick rise yeast recipes.

LOL... Juels!!! He taught me everything I know!!! Only Kidding Points!!! But I know you can take it!:)

I did get 2 nice size loaves out of it! I usually only use 1 envelope of yeast for every 5 cups, or less, of flour.

I just realized...I've been making a lot of Southern recipes lately!!! You all must be wearing off on me! LOL!
